Affiliate Marketing From A Teen

Hey guys. Here is a list of 4 of the most essential CPA networks you need to join in my opinion.

But before I show them to you, 2 important notes:

1) There are hundreds and hundreds if not thousands of CPA networks. I am a member of about 50. These are the four that I always find myself coming back to. They pay on time, my affiliate managers (AMs) are great, and I make most of my money with them.

2) These have my affiliate links in them. I ask that you please use them. The only thing I get is a 2% kickback of whatever you make (nothing taken away from you of course.) I want you to use them as this will give me incentive to post techniques and such on my blog, since I’m not charging for the information. This is a great way in my opinion for both of us to make money. You get techniques, etc, I get a slight kickback from the networks for teaching you.

Hydra

Copeac

Ads4Dough

Azoogle

I have will more later. The more you join the better. But in the beginning, just concentrate on these.

Next post will be exactly how to get into any CPA network.

First allow me to say…

Thank you everyone for your feedback on the new change!

Either way I was going to do it, even if I lost part of my audience (which I know I did from a few emails) but overall it’s much, much more what I want to do, and it looks like most of you are in agreement with what I said in the last post.

But anyway, here is some info you NEED TO UNDERSTAND if you want to really make money. (Keep in mind, as everything else on this blog, this is my opinion. If you don’t agree, back up your claims with evidence and it will be a great discussion. This is also how I see it as related to being an affiliate marketer, not necessarily having your own products.)

What You Must Understand to Really Start Making Money:

1) You are no longer just some person trying to make money online. You are not in this for just some quick money or even just for yourself. You are now a company (even if you’re just one person in your basement) whose goal is to bring targeted leads to other companies asking for your help. You get paid by these companies for your expertise and for your help.

2) You have to spend money. Yes, I know to some of you this is scary, but you must do it. When I seriously started doing this I spent about $1,000 before I started making consistent profit on a campaign. Some of you might reach it sooner, others later. But do not worry, you WILL reach it. There is just too much money to be made to not have a share… but you must know that you will probably lose money… and that is OKAY! It’s all part of the process.

3) This one goes along with the last one, but it is how you should think about spending your money, especially in the beginning… IT IS YOUR EDUCATION. How much have you spent on books? Courses? How much have you made from buying those? Well, actually going out there and risking your money will teach you a HELL of a lot more than a course. Or how about this one… how much did you pay for College? Yeah, well this can make you a ton more money than your College degree, and I’m sure you will pay a lot, lot less than you paid for College until you start making money.

4) BUY TRAFFIC! Don’t worry about SEO or stuff like that. If you really want to, be my guest, but in my opinion it is a lot more annoying and takes a lot longer to work. Now having a high ranking site in the SERPS can make you TONS of cash, but it’s just too much for me to think about. I’d rather throw money at an offer, see if it converts right away. If it does… awesome! If it doesn’t… move on. I’d rather now wait weeks or months working on a website to get ranked to see if it will work.

5) Demographics are the most important part of the marketing process. If you don’t know the demographic, you can’t market to them. Quantcast is your best friend.

*6) This one isn’t really something you must understand, but more of a tip that I thought I’d throw in. DO NOT START WITH PPC! At least in my experience… I STILL am trying to figure out PPC. I have not had a single good, profitable PPC campaign. If you CAN get it… that’s awesome. I know I will eventually, but until then, I’m still having trouble with it. I use banner advertising and contextual mostly. Oh yeah… AND DON’T USE ADWORDS! Adwords is the hardest PPC to get down. If you want to do PPC, use MSN.

I think that’s all for now.

I’ll update shortly with more info on CPA and which are my favorite networks and how to get in and stuff like that.

Let me know what you want to know about.

THIS POST IS VERY IMPORTANT! I DON’T CARE IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST TIME HERE: READ IT!

(You Should Enjoy It. The Words Are Words Not Spoken By Most Marketers.)

So… I haven’t posted in a few months.

Why?

Well, quite honestly a few reasons.

1) I’m extremely busy with making my own business prosper.
2) I’m tired of selling to other Internet marketers/make money people.
3) People looking to make money online can be real assholes.
4) I’ve decided I’d rather stay “out of the public eye.”

Let me go over these with a bit more detail.

1) The first thing… I’m extremely busy with my own business. Before I go into what that is, it is important to note that at one point I considered “Super Successful Secrets” part of my business. Now I just consider it a side venture for every once in a while mostly for myself. I don’t really care about making money from it anymore. That’s not to say that I won’t be ever updating it, but it is to say that I won’t be really actively pushing it anymore. There will be a whole new approach… a “not sale-sy” approach.

Now, on to what I AM spending my time on: making money by being a full-time affiliate marketer mostly through CPA. Now, because I know you all want them, here are a few screenshots of recent earnings.

March Earnings 1
March Earnings 2

That’s from 2 CPA networks from March. Some of the months since then haven’t been that good, and others have been better. If I get feedback, I’ll post more screenshots if you like.

Here is an important thing to take away from this, by the way… I AM NOW FOCUSED ON BEING TRANSPARENT, INSTEAD OF A MARKETER TO YOU.

What does that mean? Well, I’m not here to sell to you. I’m here just to talk about marketing shit. Yeah, that means I’ll talk the way I talk to my friends… I’m sorry if it offends you.

So anyway, I’m focused 100% on making at least 10k/mo by December 31st of this year strictly from CPA. (2009.)

BUT since I always give 110%, that 10% will be on at least keeping this updated as a little chill blog of what I’m up to and some cool stuff that will help you out.

That brings me to the next reason I’m not updating as much…

2) I’m tired of selling to the make money crowd/internet marketing. This goes along with why I just said before I’m not going to be “selling” to you guys anymore. I’m just your friend Avery who updates his blog with stuff that may or may not help you. If you’re interested in that, awesome, keep coming and you might learn something… if you’re not… I wish you the best success with wherever you go.

Anyway, the reason I’m tired of selling to the make money crowd is they are so damn annoying to sell to. You’ve gotta hype everything so damn much and beat so much skepticism… and everyone is SO PESSIMISTIC! Honestly, it’s just depressing! That brings me to the next point…

3) People looking to make money online can be real assholes. Some of you might be saying now… “WOAH AVERY! YOU JUST INSULTED YOUR AUDIENCE! NEVER DO THAT!” Well, that’s just another example of how I’m not selling to you anymore. I’m just your friendly neighborhood marketer who tells it like it is.

For every good email I get from someone, I get 10 from people saying either:

1) I’m a scammer.

2) I should be doing this for free because I already make money.

3) I’m a “f****** douche bag idiot who should die because you won’t give me the information for free.”

4) A random jumble of words that at one point in time was probably English, but now is lost to translation due to horrible spelling, grammar and punctuation. The only thing you CAN tell is that it was most likely insulting.

5) I’m a scammer… again.

You get the picture.

So, I don’t want to deal with it. Obviously the newbies are the people who most do this, but I suppose it’s a little hard to blame them. The media scares them so much and there are scammers out there giving honest folks a good name.

I do laugh however at the fact that most sites that look like scam sites to “normal people” (I.E. Not professional looking) are the honest sites by Joe who put together something really great that is worth it, and that the REAL scam sites often look the most professional. (Take a look at rip-off report for example… if you don’t know about the scam rip-off report is running, go look it up. Terrible.)

But on to the last point…

4) I’ve decided I’d rather be out of the public eye. For a while I was getting emails all the time about me… I’m in a book… I was well known across a few forums… YouTube following… etc.

I don’t like it. I get lots of unwanted attention. I don’t really want everyone and their dog knowing about me. I’d rather be an “underground guru,” so that’s what I’m going to become.

That’s why I’m making this post really. If you’re still reading this far, you now know why I’ve decided to do this, and how I am now. If you are still reading this far… wow… good job. I either wrote this post really well or you really care. Congrats for getting this far either way.

So there won’t be much more promotion on me. If you’re here or you find this, congrats. I suggest you might want to favorite the site and check back every once in a while. I guess what I’m trying to say is…

This site will be one of the few that will actually TELL IT LIKE IT IS. NO HYPE. NO BULLSHIT.

This is REAL information from a REAL marketer. Not fake info from some guru trying to mooch off you.

In conclusion, I have one more thing to say. You really can make lots of money online. If you think you will and don’t give up… well than you WILL be successful. No question.

Thanks for reading. You rock. I’ll talk to you soon.

As you know if you’ve read my last few posts, I’ve taken a great liking to affiliate marketing. Therefore, I’ve had to set up tons of new landing pages all the time, testing them all, finding differnet ones…

Some of the times it’s a nightmare to find what works!

Now, by pure coincidence it just so happens that shortly after I run into this problem, Affiliate Theme comes out, which is.. ta-da… the solution to my problem!

It allows me to create a landing page using wordpress (which I was already using) and customize it in almost every way possible including color, layout, header and other really cool stuff.

So far it’s reduced the time I’ve had to look around for themes and increased my sales. Plus, my pages just look so damn snazzy. :)

Check out the video below for a quick walkthrough of what it does.

Affiliate Theme from Unique Blog Designs on Vimeo.

I could go on even more, but instead go ahead and check out the official video they put together. Very cool stuff. I highly suggest taking  a serious look at it.

See ya later, alligators!

This post is a followup on my last one about my two epiphanies. This is the result of them so far…

I just posted this in the Warrior Forum as well, so I’ve copied and pasted it.

I just wanted to share a little story with you to show just how quick you can go from nothing to making good money.

Around mid February I started learning about a traffic source called contextual advertising, or more commonly known now a days as Pay Per View. (PPV.)

I was bored with what I was doing (mostly SEO and organic traffic that needed lots of work… articles, yahoo answers, etc.) and wanted to try my hand at paid advertising.

Adwords never got along with me well, and I never had too much success with PPC besides a few choice networks that I saw success on. (Adbrite being one of them. I’m not using them as much anymore though.)

Anyway, I knew the power of paid advertising, and the power of PPV after learning about it, so I simply told myself “Self, I am going to make this work. I will make $10,000 a month by Decemeber 31st, 2009, and I will spend as much as I need to to make it work.”

So that’s what I did.

Here’s a little info on PPV for those who don’t know…

You target anything you want… websites or keywords. So if you had a site on knitting you could go to the top knitting sites and bid on them, so that your landing page would come up when the target goes to that site.

Your page is seen by anyone who has the contextual networks software installed. Normally it is installed by people who want to play games or do something else, and it is all compeltely volunary.

The bidding for everything starts at just .01c, so it is very affordable.

So anyway, I applied and got into TrafficVance, which is a PPV network I had heard great things about. (After being a member of more now, I tend to agree. Trafficvance is awesome.)

Looking at my stats it looked like the very first day I did anything was Feb 4th. So that’s about a month and a half ago.

I setup a campaigns around CPA offers, made some landing pages, and LOST a bunch of money… and I was very happy.

I knew I was going to lose money. It’s just part of the game. It was all fine because I was TRACKING everything. For those who are still having trouble with that, look into Tracking202. It will solve your problems.

Anyway, I was seeing losses almost every day, with a few days MAYBE coming out by a few dollars. Those days were amazing. My testing was working.

So, here we are, about 45 or so days later, and so far today I have made over $200. (Keep in mind this is all net.) Yesterday I made $300.

I’m using almost all the money I make, if not all of it, to reinvest into more traffic.

PPV is an amazing traffic source, and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to start paid advertising. You start at just .01c for an impression, which is nothing.

If you want to use the same network I did (Trafficvance, which I highly recommend. They are flexible, have the best customer base that I’ve seen and heard of, and are very fast at approving campaigns 24/7.) I suggest you get in contact with my manager Jonathan. (jonathan@trafficvance.com)

He’s a cool guy and will probably give you an easier time of getting in to the network.

So here’s a quick recap of how I went from $0 to a $300 day and around $200+ a day using just PPV.

1) Got into TrafficVance.
2) Got Tracking202 all figured out and setup. (Free, by the way. :) )
*As a sidenote, I actually use Prosper202, which is the same as Tracking202 but you host it on your own server.
3) Grabbed a bunch of top converting CPA offers and sent traffic to them. (Make a landing page if necessary. Normally a review site or something of the sort.)
4) Lost money, figured out what converted, and took out bad keywords/targets
5) After finding out what was converting, it was just a matter of letting it run and moving on.
6) Rinse and repeat.

Easy! You just have to be able to take seeing your money go away while testing.

Anyway, I hope this inspires and motivates some people. Remember, before this I had practically 0 paid advertising experience, and had never even heard of PPV.

Hey guys,

So the past 45 days have been HUGE for me. I’ve had a few epiphanies. You know, those things you have when you finally realize something that has been missing, but never quite know what it is?

Well, I had mine this past month, and have been working like crazy because of it, which has left me little time to update my blog and do random IM related things…

BUT what were my revelations?

First – let me say that just like most of you I would like to make more money as well. :) I am also constantly trying to figure out ways to make more…

So, what finally “hit” me?

One – Paying for traffic is the easiest way to make huge money… you will just have to lose money first to learn it.

And I have been following this strictly. I have shelled out a few thousands dollars the past 45 days in advertising with PPC and PPV and will move to banner advertising as well in the future. Have I generated money? Oh yeah! Have I actually MADE net? No. I am still under….

So why am I so happy? BECAUSE THE AMOUNT I’VE LEARNED BY ACTUALLY PUTTING MY MONEY OUT THERE ON THE LINE AND BEING IN THE FIELD IS SO MUCH GREATER THAN ANY BOOK OR PERSON COULD HAVE JUST TOLD ME!

You have to be able to put your money out there and risk it. It’s really how you learn. Think of it as an investment. Even if you don’t make anything, you now know that doesn’t work so you can move on to another thing.

I’m almost over that hump right now. I have several campaigns that are profitable, others that are breaking even. I’m just getting it all managed. My current goal is $10k/month with this by December of this year.

So what was the second revelation? I’m kind of embarrassed about it.

You know how every marketer ever has said “track and test! Track everything or else you will be losing money lol!” Well, I never did it. Why? Was I lazy? Was I just a rebel of society? No. I just honestly didn’t know how. Sure, I heard outlines of it but I never really got it, so I never did it.

But, the past month I really finally understood it, and with it I finally understood why everyone says to do it!

Without it all my paid campaigns would still be in the mud. It is the only way to make a profit. Start broad in advertising, get tracking up and then kick out the ones that don’t convert! Boom! Easy! Then you’re just left with the ones that convert like crazy so you HAVE to make money!

So, what am I using and how did I learn all about it?

One program, one website. If you are serious about IM, I suggest you visit it NOW. (AND IT’S FREE!!!!! Multiple exclation points for added emphasis.)

Tracking202.com

That’s not even an affiliate link. In fact I don’t think they have an affiliate program.

But go there, look around, learn it and use it! It’s honestly the best and most effective program I’ve used… and it’s totally free! They are crazy!

Their support is also top notch. I had a few problems (some because I was trying to just understand it) and the support was friendly and fast. They use a forum for all their support, so you get in touch with everyone who uses the software.

So yeah, that’s it. Pay for advertising, and track. Those were my revelations really. Were you expecting something more exciting? Well, I think this is very exciting, as it’s changed my entire business.

Where before I was writing articles or paying someone to do it for me and submitting everywhere, now I look around for a campaign, pop it up, track it and lose money. After I lose money I see if it converted. If it did, I take out the nonconverting keywords and optionally create a custom landing page. Then I run it again and repeat until profit.

Cha-ching!

Good hunting!

Oh, one more thing, now a days I like to stay away from digital products. I do still promote them, but I vastly prefer CPA offers and physical offers. I’m going to update my membership site, Private Income Underground, with the exact techniques I’m using for this, so if you want to learn it you can join up here

That’s actually the link for the One Time Offer, which you SHOULDN’T be allowed access to, but for making it this far down the post I figure you must be pretty cool and serious so why not?

The Trap that most newbies fall for. I did, and you probably did, too. I made a post about this before, but this version is much better. :)

A few days late, but still relevant.

Have you created your goals for 2009 yet? If you don’t treat making money online like a business and seriously, you can’t expect to get far.

Grab a peice of paper and write down what you want to achieve. Make $2,000 a month by the end of the year if you’re just starting? Or better yet, go for very difficult goals to push yourself farther… how about make $10,000 a month by the end of the year?

Just make sure you write down what you want to achieve! A new site? A better relationship? More free time? Hire an employee?

Now make this year your best ever!

There’s a trap that almost all beginners fall for when it comes to making money online. I fell for it, and almost assuredly you fell for it as well.

When you first become interested in making money online, was it because you heard that it was hard, or because you heard that you can make $10k+ a month in your spare time with almost no work?

While the latter will not come true right away (happens in some rare cases, though), I’m willing to bet you got interested because you heard something along the lines of the second statement.

So, that’s how your mind begins to think. You think that making money online is supposed to be incredibly easy. So, when you start to unpackage and try out this method you learned about that guarantees this success, and see you aren’t making anything, you figure something must be wrong and move onto something else.

And the trap is set.

You now have the thought that making money online is this incredibly simple, easy to learn and do process that you should be able to set in motion and reap the rewards from for years. (While this can be done and is done, it is NOT what you do when you are a beginner.)

So, you will move on to program after program, trying to get to that easy solution, because that’s the image that has been planted in your brain, and we do NOT want to think that it is actually a business, or it requires effort.

If you are still stuck in the trap, I have news for you.

Making money online is a BUSINESS. You will WORK. You will spend TIME. But in the end you will REACH THE DREAM!

It’s just not as simple and easy as they make it sound.

However, if you are like me, you will think aspects of it are FUN!

The key is to find one of those programs that says it will bring you success… and actually do it. If you aren’t seeing success yet, chances are you’ve never actually done anything from complete start to complete finish.

You may have bought a lot of ebooks. Did you follow any of them completely? If you did, there’s a good chance you should be seeing some profit now.

Finish what you start, and don’t get caught in the trap.

Now go make money!

I’ve been working nonstop the past few weeks on a few things… and here they are.

1) In case you haven’t heard, many people have reported that Clickbank has been having tracking issues and sales have been down. Now, as a warning, this should NOT DISCOURAGE you to keep using them if that is all you have access to. They are still great, but I’d look into using PayDotCom and other programs as well if you rely on affiliate programs.

That being said, I’ve completely taken off my reliance on them. I now use 1ShoppingCart and my own merchant account so I can accept credit cards directly. I do NOT recommend this approach at first. I only recommend this if you know you are going to be pulling in many sales from your own products.

2) I’ve also been secretly working on a brand new membership site that is perfect for anyone trying to make money online. It has interviews with people making money, money making methods, videos and more. I suggest you check it out here right now.

3) I’ve ALSO bought the rights to an absolutely AMAZING product that I myself bought and used. I contacted them personally for the rights to the product so I can pass it along to my subscribers for much cheaper than you’ll find anywhere else. Now, I need to recoup my costs for buying it and I do plan on making some money off of it (I bought it because I knew people wouldn’t be able to resist it because it’s so good) but you will find it from me cheaper than you will find anywhere else.

The product is called Residual Income Formula, and I invite you to check it out here… just read the headline and tell me if it isn’t awesome.

Now go out and make money!
